My
first career was in teaching Chemistry but I have always done
woodwork in my spare time and when the opportunity came to
start a second this was the area I chose. Because
my main area of interest was in woodturning this was my
starting point. I usually favour English hardwoods to work
with and use primarily Oak, Ash, Yew, Walnut, Cherry and
Sycamore.
Having moved to Kent from Essex in 2004 I am happily established in a workshop where I can enjoy making production pieces, gallery pieces and teaching. I am cutting down on the amount of furniture as I enjoy pure turning more.
I am proud
to be a member of the
Sussex Guild (Sussex is only a few miles away!) which
is a lively group of talented craft makers. Most of the shows I do are with the Sussex Guild and I have work in the Sussex Guild shop in Southover Road, in Lewes.
